A card full of Poinsettias and Joyous Congratulations

Hi, over at Heartfelt Creations this week, I am featuring a very romantic card...using the oh so wonderful Poinsettia collection!

JOYOUS CONGRATULATIONS

Heartfelt Creations Products and Products carried by Heartfelt Creations:

Other products used:
Art Anthology Sorbet Dimensional Paint: Vegas Gold, Chocolate. Ranger: Ink-spritzer, Distress ink Peeled Paint marker, Heat gun, Water mister. Diamond stickles. Other: Spellbinders S2-082 Sentiments one. SUP A4 natural white card stock. Gold pearl beads x 15. Versa-mark.

Instructions: This step card measures 21 cm x 14.8 cm.
To make the step card base, cut from the SUP card stock 21 cm x 29.8 cm. Fold in half, cut. On the 29.8 cm length, 5 cm from the edge, cutting from 5 cm to the last 5cm.  This will make the side step 5 cm wide. The valley will be 2.5 cm. Taking the SUP card stock die cut the matting using the Cut Mat Create die sets. Stamp the Poinsettias with the gold embossing powder. Die cut the flower shapes using the matching dies. Once you have colored the flowers with the Art Anthology medium, shape and ball with the deluxe Flower Shaping kit and water mister. When dry, adhere the pearls to the Poinsettia centers.

Cut the sentiment using the sentiment die. Cut 2 of the heart frames using the Timeless Amour die set.

Once you have done all this you can arrange the flowers and hearts on the card front, to see where you will want the leaf cut outs to be. Do not adhere yet! Remove the arrangement while holding the dies in place. Make the die cuts. Gold emboss stamp the Joyous sentiment, masking the ‘a’ from the image.

Adhere all the matting layers together with the 3d foam squares. You can now rearrange and adhere the flowers, hearts and sentiment with glue. Tuck the swirls that have been cut from the matting behind and in-between the flowers. Apply the stickles to the inside heart frame and the die cut sentiment. To finish, use the ink spritzer and distress marker to spray ink a little on the back ground.

See how these Poinsettias are so wonderful! They change with the medium used and colours chosen.
A shame in real life these are only around at a certain time of year....thats why you need to get the stamp and die sets so you can make sure...you have them all year round....LOL.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today...till my next post...have a scrappy inky day,
Inky hugs to you...sussipoppins

"Wishing you a Wonderful Day"

Hi, how are you on this sunny wonderful day. I have for you a card that is dear to my heart...
   I so love this one!

‘WISHING YOU A WONDERFUL DAY’
Starting with a few close ups.

These beautiful swans embossed on gold, sitting behind the flowers.

Can't get enough of this....LOL

See how the branch twigs and the leaves support the flower clusters

Another closer look at the silk seam-binding ribbon

The branch twigs are cut so they can be tucked in behind the flowers. I am really loving those all geared up leaves...can't get enough of them...and they work with everything.

See how the flower centres are enhanced with the stickler...love it when stickler can make my life simple but sweet...see how the oval frame works well as a base...not too much and over done.

Taking another close up look at these flowers again. Don't forget to add the stickles when all the flowers etc are glued down and dry.

...now we have the finished product on show again. I hope you have been inspired and motivated to try this card.

You can find this post along with all the other Heartfelt Creations gals postings on the Heartfelt Creations blog post for this week.

Ranger: Diamond stickles, Gold embossing powder. Heat gun. Paper distress tool, Water mister. Distress Inks: Walnut Stain, Victorian Velvet, Shabby Shutters. Card Stock: Sup natural white A4 card stock x 3, Pale yellow x 1. Other: Spellbinders embossing folder E3D-018, SUP alphabet clay mold, Double sided 3d foam tape. Seam-binding ribbon.

The directions to make this card: The finished card measures 21 cm x 15.2 cm.
The card base:- take a sheet of SUP A4 card stock fold at 14.5 cm. Do not trim off the excess, the extra length is for the front of the card. The extra length in the front gives the card a good slant when standing. I find it also carry’s the embellishments better. From the paper collection, find the beige and pink papers seen in the card photo. The card front layers:- Cut 20.6 cm x 14.5 cm. Distress the edges with the distressing tool then dampen the paper with the water mister. Curl the edges up a little. Cut 17.5 cm x 13.5 cm.  Emboss this with the embossing folder. Carefully distress the edges, spray with the mister and curl the edges up. Leave both papers to dry.Taking the A4 card stock die cut the decorative oval, the cut mat create frame (size-3” x 1”) and the leaves from the, all geared up die set. Cut also a few of these leaves from the same papers as the card front layers. Ink the edges of the leaves with the Walnut Stain distress ink and the ink foam tool. For the stamping: Stamp the branches with Walnut stain then die cut these with the matching die set.  Stamp the leaves from the Romantique garden set with Shabby Shutters ink and die cut with the matching die set. The following are all stamped with the gold embossing powder then die cut with the matching die sets: The swans are stamped and die cut with the A4 card stock using the Romantique swans and Romantique garden die and stamp sets. Die cut each swan, two extra cuts, stack and glue together. This gives you three layers, thus making a chip-board. The white blossoms using the Botanical stamp and die sets. The Poinsettias, stamp onto the pale yellow card stock and die cut using the Poinsettia stamp and die sets. Colour with the distress inks. Shape and ball the leaves and flowers with the deluxe flower shaping tool kit. Stamp half of the sentiment found in the Poinsettia stamp set. Make the letters using the clay and the alphabet mould. (the letters should be done the night before, as it takes a while to dry.) Make a double bow from the seam binding ribbon. Putting the card together: Adhere the paper layers to the card base using foam tape. Adhere the oval frame with wet glue. Adhere the cut mat create frame with foam tape. Adhere the sentiment and ‘DAY’ letters with wet glue. Apply a little ink to the letters to make it pop. Adhere the swans with wet glue. Apply and wet glue the branches/twigs in place. Adhere the bow and flowers with wet glue. Tuck the leaves under the flowers. For the finishing touches, add stickles to the Poinsettia points and white blossom centres.

"Celebrate You"

Hello to you all, on this fine Wednesday Heartfelt Creations posting day.
Today I have a LO to check out...but wait...
GREAT NEWS TODAY!
New Die release! An extension on the Peacock Paisley Collection. Look on and see what it is!
Check this link out and see what Heartfelt Creations has to offer you today....let them make your day!

This LO photo is of a very dear girlfriend of mine....unfortunately.... I have lost contact with her. We met and spent our time together in New Zealand, we both split up around 20-30 years ago. Stephanie  moved to Australia 20 to 30 years ago....and got married....love can do wonderful things...LOL... I did the same, only I went further to Holland....so if anyone recognises this photo and wants to help me out...please give me a hint. I have dear fond memories of our time together. I came a cross this photo when playing in my cave and wanted to celebrate the memory of her.....Steph...this one is for you!

Now to get on with the show.....a few close ups to share with you.

Close up of this wonderful new toy Heartfelt Creations have released this week!
And thats not all! two other die in the set!

This is the other peacock die...which one to chose? Use the KISS solution...
"Keep It Simple Sussi"
Have them all...yes you too can have them all...wait for it! Thank goodness Heartfelt Creations also think out of the box and are very understanding of our dilemma....LOL.
Are you ready for it! Yip they put all three dies in one set for us! Two Peacocks and one feather!
Now that is thoughtfulness...aren't they wonderful!

The third die, is a feather die. Now you don't have to fussy cut all those fine swirls. Here the feather is tucked under the flowers and leaves as a filler....love that gold embossing!

Here above, the feather is trimmed shorter so it can be tucked into place. See how you can us the off cuts.

Another look at my most fav. peacock.
You can see the flowers supporting the Peacock tail and surrounding the photo...psst...thats why the photo needs to be raised....so all the flowers, double stacked leaves and feathers....
all come into their glory
Once again I love these dies...now I can make chipboard embelishments with them.
I could not before as one can not fussy cut x6 exactly the same...LOL Read on. The tutorial will tell all on how to.
Have a scrappy time making these chipboards and I whish you inky fingers colouring them.
Inky hugs. Sussipoppins

The Lay Out tutorial and the product list...

"CELEBRATE YOU"
Heartfelt Creations Products and Products Carried on our Website:
Other products used: White card stock. Derwent ink- tense water-color pencils: Leaf Green 1600, Sun Yellow 0200, Mustard 1700, Teal Green 1300, Iris Blue 0900 Field Green 1500,Tangerine 0300. Ranger: Diamond stickles, Gold embossing powder, Heat gun, Water color brush, Black Soot distressing ink and Inking foam tool. Other: Versa-mark, Double sided tape, Cardboard 4mm thick
Instructions for this project:
This Lay Out is 30 cm x 30 cm. The photo,11 cm x 15 cm.
Find the paper in the paper collection with the cut mat create background (this will be your background), the dark blue flower printed paper (this will be your matting), the paper with the peacock sitting on the white gates on the right lower side. (this will be further referred to, as patterned paper).Taking the dies from the Cut Mat Create 1a and 1b die collection and the papers, cut to size using the 3.5 cm x 5.5 cm from HCD2-750 set. Cut x 10 to this size from the white card stock. Cut x1 each from the same die size for the top right, top left and bottom left panel from the patterned paper
Taking the HCD2-749 cut x 3 from the dark blue paper for the matting in size 3.75 “ x 5.75 “. For the center matting under the photo, use the HCD2-750  3 “ x 1 “die for the blue paper and the HCD2-750 1.75 " x 3.5 " for the patterned paper. The left top and lower right panels have the 5 white card stock stacked to make this into a chipboard. Adhere the cut patterned paper to this stack, then continue adhering the rest of the matting papers in place on the back ground paper inking the edges with the Black Soot ink as you go. Apply stickles to the white fence the peacock is sitting on. To make the embellishments continue as follows. All the embellishments are made with the white cardstock, stamped with the gold embossing powder and colored with the Derwent pencils and water coloring brush. To make both Peacock chipboards, die cut the shape x 5 each, stamp and die cut x 1. You have in total have 6 layers. Adhere these together making sure all is aliened and straight. Bring color to the Peacocks. Stamp, die cut and color the remaining embellishments as follows. 4 x feathers, 4 x both large and small leaves. Do the same for the flowers so you will have x 9 for the left side of the photo and x 3 for the right photo side cluster. Shape and ball the flowers ready for placement.
For the photo, cut a piece of cardboard to fit the photo. Cut also x 2,  8.5 cm x 5.5 cm to raise the photo to the desired height on the lay out. Adhere these two cardboards to the lay out so the photo will be placed in the center of the page. Ink the edges of the photo and cardboard. Adhere in place. Adhere the chipboard Peacocks on their resting place on the photo and the other on the fence. Arrange the leaves, flowers and feathers as seen in the lay out photo. Find the words “ CELEBRATE “ and “ YOU “ in the paper collection. Trim to size and ink the edges. Adhere in place for the title. Because of the weight of the embellishments the lay out needs support. To do this, cut a sheet of cardboard to fit the size of the background then adhere with the wet glue so you can slide the paper on the cardboard. This will allow you to adhere the background so it will be straight and aligned at the edges. When the glue is dry, Ink the edges with the Black Soot ink. To finish, add the stickles to the flower centers and both Peacocks crowns

Sparkling Poinsettias and Scripture Study mini book ....

Trying something new with the posting...all constructive feed back is welcome.

Below, is the mini book book preseanted open. You get to see the tags out of their pockets. See how the inked edges fade into the centre, so what ever you write will look fantastically great, made with love...LOL That is why it is important to take the time to ink the edges, then you get that royal, luscious look.

Below, you can see how the red die cut paper folds around the spine on to the back of the book. The water splatters gives an aged look to the book. An option you can delete if it is not your thing.

Zooming in here to show you the stitching with gold thread also the gold embossing that gives the cover papers that yummy texture.

Show casing the candle and the Poinsettias. A bit of fussy cutting going on here...The title, tucked under and into the flower cluster. If your hand writing is not the best, may be you can print a font to use. Or invest in a alphabet stamp small enough for the job....have fun finding one you like....LOL....I know how painful and time consuming that one can be....

Now a look inside the book...remember you can make and addapt this book for any purpose...always remembering.... it is your party.

You can see what I did with the inside, You can dress it up even more if you wanted. There is plenty of room to write notes to your self and glue pictures. You could even make a lot more tags.

On this page the paper strips each have one of the  fruitage's of the spirit featured in the scripture.  You will find this in, Galatians 5:22 and 23...great way to use bullet reminders.

A reminder of what the finished book looks like after all those close ups

I think this is a great basic mini book idea because, it can made to cater to any occasion, subject, can be placed on the coffee table as a show peace or just so you have it handy to review a few scriptures you want to remember. The book will also make a wonderful gift for someone dear to the heart....you could think about making a presentation box to go with it. Now that would be a wonderful gift to receive!
Don't forget you can always adapt the theme of the book it to fit the needs of the day....occasion....person...or age
I wish you much fun making these wonderful poinsettias for this project and many many scrappy hours getting inky fingers...
Hugs sussipoppins...xox

Here is the Product list and instructions:- ( Trying something new...I have presented it this way so it will, maybe, easier to print off...hopefully...)

Distress Inks: Walnut Stain, Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany, Forest Moss, Antique Linen, Bundled Sage, Mustard Seed. Stickles-diamond. EK Success: 1 " Circle punch, Corner punch-large.
Other: Glue dots. Versa-mark, Silk seam binding ribbon-1 meter, Gold thread and needle, Black writing pen. Bible for scriptures.
Directions:
This mini book when finished measures 15.2 cm x 7.8 cm. To make the mini book base you need 2 sheets of card stock. 30cm x 30 cm. Score or fold in half. Turn the paper, score or fold in 1/2, cut along this fold line to the last fold line. Repeat with the second paper. Fold and arrange the papers in the book form so you get a pocket every second page. You can punch and ink the paper now if you want but I did it after gluing the pages together. Use wet glue on the edges to adhere. (If you use double sided tape, the sticky from the tape will not dry and some times the tag will stick to it from the inside of the pocket) Punch a half circle in the top of the pockets. Give color to the pages and pockets with the distress inks. Taking the background stamp, using the music part of the stamp, stamp across all the pages, including the front and back of the book, with black ink. For the book cover, cut 15 cm x 14 cm from the same card stock as the book. Taking again the background stamp with the gold embossing powder this time using the whole stamp image. Ink up the paper. Flick a few spatters of water over the inked cover to give an aged look. When dry, prick wholes along all the edges and embroider this with the gold thread.  With this same paper, score a 1 cm spine for the book. Please NOTE, every book is different so check this before scoring and adjust if needed. Take the seam binding ribbon and color this with the distress inks to match the book color. Make a double bow.
With the remaining ribbon, adhere a length to each the front and back at the center edge. This will become the book closing, so you need to adhere at least 2cm into the page to make it strong. First adhere the cover at the spine then to the front and back of the book. This will also hide the ribbon ends. Find the red paper from the paper collection and die cut the frame using the raindrops die set. Ink the edges of the frame, and then adhere to the book cover. You need to decorate the inside of the book before you go any further with the front cover. Cut papers from the paper collection to fit the inside pages as wanted. Make a few pockets by punching half circles and making pockets for the pages. Because this is a scripture study book, I used masking to use the stamps to fit from the Sparkling Poinsettia collection HCPC-3683 and HCPC-3682. For the scripture tags cut 1 cm x 10 cm strips from card stock. Ink the edges with the Walnut Stain ink. Write the scriptures from the Bible what that you want to highlight. Make also for the book Titles Scripture Study Cut from card stock cards 9.5 cm x 4.7 cm to write out the scripture text and adhere them where wanted. Because there is a lot of pockets you can add or take away later what you want. To make the tags: Cut 16 cm x 6.3 cm and 13 cm x 6.3 cm for each page pocket made. With the Joy to the World stamp set, take the stamp image with the swirled heading. Mask the Joy to the World words so you have only the heading. Stamp this at the top of each tag with black ink. Ink the edges with the distress inks to match the book. Make your Poinsettia flowers by stamping with gold embossing powder, and using the matching dies to cut out. The Poinsettias are colored with the distress inks. Use the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit to shape and ball the flowers. Using the water-mister to soften the card stock while shaping. Find the candle image in the Sparkling Poinsettia Candle stamp set. Stamp the candle with the gold embossing powder and fussy cut the image. Order of placement for the embellishments: Adhere with a glue dot, the double bow to the point where the ribbon ties and frame meet. Arrange and adhere the, title, Poinsettias and candle. To give the Poinsettias their sparkle, add stickles to the points of the petals.

Card stock: Pale yellow for flowers and leaves. 2 x SUP Natural White A4 card stock for the card. Ranger: Distress inks; Walnut Stain, Victorian Velvet, Shabby Shutters. Water coloring brush. Water mister, Fruit punch, Diamond stickles. Gold embossing powder, Heat gun, Prick tool, Foam ink tool. Craft sheet. Other: Quelling tool, Versa-mark, Double sided foam tape, Spellbinders A2 Scalloped Boarders-1 S5-182. Making Memories gem stickers/pearl.

Instructions: Finished Card measurements, 11 cm x 16.5 cm.
To make the card base, cut from the A4 card stock 15.2 cm x the length. Using the score-pal, score this at 9.2 cm and 20 cm. Take the Spellbinders Scalloped Boarders-1 die set, cut a scalloped boarder to the 9.2 end of the card base. Taking a sheet of card stock, cut 15.2 cm x 9.5 cm and 15.2 cm x 3.5 cm. Take the Scalloped Boarders-1 die set and die cut one edge of each of the above card stock.  The card stock measuring 15.2 cm x 5 cm, die cut a boarder on both edges. Taking the prick tool, prick wholes along the straight edges of all the boarded card stock. Look to the card photo.

Take the card stock measuring 15.2 cm x 9.5 cm and stamp the swirls with gold embossing powder with the Sparkling Poinsettia swirl. Position the image so it will peak out from under the flowers when placed.

To make the sentiment banner: stamp the sentiment from the Sparkling Poinsettia Swirl set using the gold embossing powder, then die cut the banner shape by using the banner die from the Everyday Heroes die set.

To make the Poinsettia flowers, Stamp the flower image with the gold embossing powder onto the pale yellow card stock then die cut using the matching die set. Color the flowers with the distress inks and ink foam tool. Shape the flowers with the Deluxe Flower shaping kit and a water mister.
To make the screw swirls, cut very thin strips, a width of about 1.5mm - 2 mm from the card stock. Quell, pull to lengthen, cut to the length wanted.

To put the card together:
Adhere the 15.2 cm x 3.5 cm boarder to the inside card edge to form a stop for the card front. Adhere with 3d foam squares and glue the die cut remaining scalloped boarded card stock layers to the card front. Place the sentiment banner. Place the pearl to the end of the banner. Arrange and adhere the Poinsettias. Cut the leaves from a large green colored Poinsettia. Adhere these into place. Tuck and adhere the screw swirls under the flowers and leaves. As always once all is attached and dried, add the Diamond stickles to the points of the attached Poinsettias, Fruit Punch stickles to the centres.
You could leave out the stickles on the flowers if you are not into sparkle, these Poinsettias are so beautiful in there own right.

******
I told you, these Poinsettias are just so wonderful. I really enjoyed colouring them...add a little sparkle and you are ready to go! I made so many extras...a good tip...you then always have a extra flower or two on hand.
Have a stash of flowers embossed and die cut, so when the sun comes out this summer, you will want to relax and catch a few rays or like me you just want to be lazy, take the moment to unwind...the best stress release is to colour....O poor me....I am so stressed the last few months....I need to do color therapy....a lot.....LOL
Another tip of the day: the gold embossing makes it more fun, also gives the flowers a royal, elegant finish when done. So much so that I do it all the time.
I can't wait to show you what I have  in store for next week....but I will....nasty, nasty...goes to show how much therapy I need....LOL...till then have a very inky scrappy week.

Don't forget to go back or drop by at Heartfelt Creations DT weekly postings. Put on your must do list...check out Emma Lou's tutorial and introduction to the new collection. There is so much to learn there.

Find the sentiment from the paper collection and cut to size. Distress the edges. Adhere the sentiment to the stop on the top right hand side. (By adding the foam tape to the top of the sentiment only, this will give it a slant when placed.)

To make the fussy cut Poppy boarders: Stamp with the Poppy corner image x 2 on the A4 card stock and jet black ink. Color the images with the glimmer mist as you did before. Fussy cut the boarders.  Cut parts away as needed to layer on the card front stop. Place and adhere with wet glue and double sided foam tape. To finish, add stickles to the Poppy centers and seeds heads.
