This hinged tent fold card when finished measures 18.5 cm x 14.0 cm
Make a hinged tent fold base card to the measurements above. Cut a card front from the design paper in the paper collection, 17. 5 cm x 13.0 cm. Distress the edges with the distressing tool. Adhere this to the card base with foam tape or Double Dots.

Taking the green card stock, die cut the eyelet oval base. While the die is still in the card stock, bring ink to the circle with the foam ink tool so it is shaded.

To make the card stock boarder, take the boarder die and green card stock and die cut on both sides of the cardstock to form a lace boarder. Adhere this across the card then adhere the oval with the foam tape or Double Dots, this forms your card front.

Taking the crafters companion card stock and the gold embossing powder stamp the sentiment and the flowers from the circle sentiment stamp from the 'It’s All Good, stamp set. Cut the sentiment to a flag banner. Ink the edges. Using the Archival ink. Stamp and die cut the tree. Die cut 4 extra tree cuts using the white card stock to enable you to use all the layers to make a chipboard embellishment from the tree. Apply color the tree, owls and flowers with the Derwent pencils.

Cut the tree truck 2 cm from the roots. Align with a 2 cm gap in the trunk
Align and adhere the tree to the card, leaving a 2 cm gap in the join. This will lengthen the tree trunk. Using the ribbon, make a double triple bow, adhere this across the card where the cardstock lace boarder is. Use the glue dot to secure the bow. With foam tape or double dots, adhere the sentiment banner so it will cover the gap. Once the flowers have been colored and fussy cut, adhere on each side of the ribbon bow.

When all is dry and secure, apply stickles to all the flower centers.

Make a hinged card base from the above measurements. From the paper pad chose a sheet of paper and cut to 15.8 cm x 15.8 cm for the matting. Cut from the card stock for the card embossed front 15 cm x 15 cm.
Using the woodland embossing folder, apply the walnut stain to the raised bark part of the folder. Carefully place the cardstock in the folder, close and hold firmly so it will not move, run it through the machine to emboss. Take out of folder. Leave to dry so the ink will not smudge.

Stamp the sentiment, owls and the flower part of the birdcage. Apply colour to the owls and the flowers. Die cut the heart x 5 and the owls x 4. Adhere all together to make chipboard.

Using the stamp positioner, stamp the owl image so you will get the hearts above the heart chipboard frame when applied. Adhere the heart chipboard to the card front. Place and adhere one of the heart centers in the chipboard frame.

Adhere with foam tape/double dots and glue the owls across the heart. Fussy cut the flowers so they will fit in and around the bottom of the heart point.

Make a double triple bow from the ribbon and adhere to the side of the heart with a glue dot. Tuck under the ribbon and adhere the sentiment with a double dot.

Add a flower cluster to the corners and under the sentiment.

Fussy cut the stamped image to fit the inside of the heart and for around the out side of the heart point.

When all is dry and secure, add the Star-dust stickles to the heart frame. Flower centers and the owls. Apply the red stickles to the hearts. a shame you can not see the shimmer in the paper so well. So hard to get this on camera....but it is there.

You're a Hoot

YOU’RE A HOOT!

Heartfelt Creations Products and Products carried by Heartfelt Creations:

Other Products used:
Ranger: Archival jet black ink, Star dust stickles, Gold embossing powder, heat gun, water coloring brush, Seedless preserves distress ink.
Card stock: Crafters Companion -centura pearl- snow white hint of gold 300gm.
Inktense Derwent water color pencils 72 set: 0520 Carmine pink, 0730 Dusty purple, 1400 Apple green, 1230 Mallard green, 2010 Sepia ink, 0200Sun yellow, 0900Iris blue, 1546 Light olive
Other: SUP oval punch 2" x 1" Pink organza ribbon 6mm wide. Darning needle. Fussy cut scissors.
Glue dots. 3d double sided foam tape

Instructions:
The finished measurement of this card is, 21 cm x 14.7 cm.
All the stamping is done with the Archival ink except the flowers. This is done with the gold embossing powder.
Make a card base to the above measurements using the centura pearl card stock. From the design paper cut the matting for the card base. 21 cm x 13 cm.
For the card front, taking the centura pearl card stock, cut to 21 cm x 13 cm.
Use the boarder die on both sides of the 21 cm edge. Using the darning needle and organza ribbon, thread the ribbon through the wholes on the boarder.

Adhere ends. Adhere the matting and card front together. Adhere the ribbon across the front as seen in the card photo. The crossing will be behind the sentiment about 5.5 cm up and 5 cm across.

Stamp the owls x 1, swing x 1, tree x 3, flowers x 1 set and the sentiment x 1. For the flying owl and swing, die cut 2 x extra die cuts. For the tree cut 4 x extra die cuts. Adhere all together to make chip bards from the images.

The remaining 2 stamped trees will be trimmed to fit when adhering to the card front. Using the inktense pencils, color the images.
Use the punch to give the sentiment the oval shape. Prepare flowers and make a bow from the ribbon with 6 loops.

The tree is cut about 3.2 cm from the bottom.
Adhere the swing to the tree branch, trimming as needed.
This card stock is sooooo yum! Pearly and shimmery. You don't see it with these photos...sorry. What I love about the card stock is it is 300 gms so it will hold all my extras and still stand straight....and the pearl shimmer shows through when inks are applied. To get a shard inking on this card stock, I have found archival jet black to be the best. You must leave it a while for the ink to dry before doing any other work on the card though.
Sorry about the hairs in the photo...it really shows up with the close up. You can see all the layering as well....don't you love the hand made look?

Align the tree trunks, leaving a gap for the sentiment oval.

These owls are so sweet! You can do so much with them!
Adhere the sentiment with double dots or foam tape, do the same for the owls sitting on the swing.

Adhere the bow and flowers to the edge of the sentiment. Love that gold embossing powder.

Cut and adhere the tree branches as shown in the photo.  Don't worry...you won't see the cuts and joins until you tilt the card and look for them. A birds eye view of the nasties....that you won't see..lol.

When all is dry and secure, apply stickles to the owls, flower centers and leaf edges.
Well thats it for this week....got more coming next week so keep tuned. I am having fun at the CHA...burning the candle at both ends...if there weren't two ends I would not be able to burn them...lol I shall be back home on the 16th...all jet legged....will have a few days to catch up before falling back into the grind. Will be needing a few days to give a little TLC to my DH who has been missing men for the duration of the CHA....what a sweetie he is.

Till I get back have a inky time...scrappy hugs

A post comment: I have used the heat gun to adhere all the flowers etc. This makes life very easy and quick...but you got to watch out for those hairy fairy tails...I call them....you can not see them with the naked eye...well at least I can't. So clean them as soon as you see them...not a job for later! Use tweezers to get them out. The camera picks them up very well. I had to take the shots 3 times and still had the hairy fairy tails....life happens......lol

Now for the know how instructions for this folder.
Tips on how to make flowers using the flower shaping tool kit HERE
Instructions:
This folder when completed, measures 23.5 cm x 23.5 cm x 6.5 cm.
Make the base folder using the tan card stock, 23.5 cm (front)- 6.5 cm (spine) -23.5 cm (back). Make a box for the inside of folder measurements, 16.5 cm x 16.5 cm - 3cm deep. Make the box lid measuring, 1.5 cm - 16.5 cm - 3.2 cm- 3cm x 16.8 cm. Using the design paper from the paper pad, cover the outer and inner of the folder, sides of box, box lid inside and out. Use the masks and gesso to decorate the inside spine, box and lid. Distress all the edges of the papers before adhering to the folder and box base. Cut a piece of cardboard to fit inside the box base, 16.4 cm x 16.4 cm, this will be the base for your mixed media work.  Make a mask using the eyelet die and use this with gesso to give the cardboard base a white background. Use the eyelet frame for the back ground behind the dress. Raise the frame by adhering cardboard to the back of the frame. Stamp and cut the shoe. Cutting extra to make chipboard from the shoe. Stamp and die cut the dress x 3. Cut away the bodice and adhere the dress together so the skirt will be fuller. Add color and stickles to the shoe and dress. Adhere in place. Add the netting and ribbon to the dress waist. Make the flowers and adhere in place as seen in the photo. For the front lid of the box: make the following, eyelet frame, shoe card and flowers then add color to these. For the shoe card, use both shoe stamps, one for the out side and the other for the inside of the card. Make the card then adhere to the box lid on top of the oval die cut.(see the close up photo) When adding the flowers, use them as a stop for the opening of the card. Adhere in place as shown in the close ups. Adhere the box and box lid to the folder. Adding the ribbon ties as you go. Once the box is attached you can further decorate the lid and side of the box with the flowers. The photo on the folder is been given height by backing it with cardboard. Make the flowers and decorate the corners of the photo. Stamp and die cut the butterfly, dress hanger and then adhere in their place as shown. The front of the folder: make the flowers, shoe, dress and butterfly. Arrange and adhere. With the glue gun, adhere the ribbons in place under the flowers. Cut enough ribbon to make a large double bow, using 2 colors and 2 lengths for each tie.
