Happy News & Heartfelt Creations!!!

The day has come...for all to be revealed at Heartfelt Creations for the new "Design Team 2014-2015"!
I can now share with you my exciting news....I'm in!!!!.... I'm feeling so honored, inspired, excited and rearing to go....still in 5th gear!

A whole year of wonderful papers, stamps and dies to play with! I wont come out of my cave!

Coming back down to earth, centering and all that, I can now share with you what I sent in as a semi finalist a month ago.

Heartfelt Creations products, used on this project:
HCPC3376 Distressed Leaves

Other products: cardstock, ribbon, glue dots, glue, double sided tape, double sided foam 3d tape, gold thread and darning needle, prick pen, Stickles Diamond, Clay embellishment,  Ink - black (for aging the edges of the paper) and orange, yellow (for the flowers), black sand granules

Instructions: Use one of the papers from the HCDP1 247 Classic Sunflower Paper Collection  with title "Enjoy the Beauty of simple things". Cut along the line of the title of the paper until you get to the butterfly, skip the butterfly, leaving it in one piece, and then continue cutting in a straight line. Cut the wings of the butterfly away on the left side to the bottom tip of the wing (the photo will later be tucked behind the butterfly). Do the same with the second paper except, when you get to the butterfly - stop, then cut down to shape a rectangle.

Using the prick tool, prick holes for your back stitching with the gold thread. Prick the holes about 0.5 cm from the edge of the paper. When embroidery is completed, distress all edges with a distressing tool. Apply double sided 3d foam tape to the pattern paper to enable it to pop when attached.

To fill the rest of the background, patch the background with the remaining paper from the two sheets already used. Patch to fit the cardstock back base. Before attaching with glue or double sided tape, distress the sides of the paper that will be on the edge as you go - see the layout. The top patch has a tear in it, distress the tear and fold it back a little. Using cross stitch, sew the tear together. This needs to be done before gluing.

Cut the two tags to match the photo or the title. Ink their edges to give them aged effect. Make three ribbon bows. Cut the title in two as shown in layout.

Cut points in the ends and ink all the edges. Curl the paper with your fingers to give both titles a curve. Cut the leafy swirls using HCD2-750 Cut Mat Die and HCD2-752 Cut Mat Die .

Stamp, cut and ink the leaves using HCPC3376 Distressed Leaves. Cut the three butterflies out and curl these with a balling tool or a bone folder.

Stamp and die cut the sunflowers, using HCD753 Classic Sunflower Die and HCPC3626 Classic Sunflower Precut Set . Color and ink the flowers in sunflower colors, then ball the petals and work them in the same manner as in the Classic Sunflower Shaping and Stamping video tutorial from Emma-Lou (http://www.heartfeltcreations.us/howto?view=videos&videoID=60).

To finish off the Sunflowers add a generous amount of glue in the centers, then spoon the sand granules over the glue. With your forefinger gently press the sand into the glue. Tap away excess sand. When dry apply a light circle of glue on top of the sand, and then sprinkle the bronze glitter. Attach the Sunflowers to the card with glue dots and double sided 3d foam tape.

Place the leaves under the flowers. Put glue on the stems and base of the leave, then tuck them under the flowers as shown on the layout. Glue the ends of the swirls and put them in place. Glue the bows, clay embellishment and butterflies in place. When all the glue is dry, apply the Stickles to the butterflies and Glossy Glaze to the swirls.

I hope you enjoyed today's post!

Make sure to visit me soon, as I have two more lovely projects to share with you!

Wishing you all a happy, inky, scrappy day.
