Heartfelt Creations' Postcard

Hi, A fun Heartfelt Wednesday again!
My most fav. day of the week. 1st I get to spend the morning with "Deen" my most fav, fella in Heemstede ...and I get to show and tell for Heartfelt Creations.

This is a fav stamp of mine. It can be used as a card base for anyone or anything. Take the time to look to the close ups, you can see how easy it is to dress it up or down. This did not take long to make and by changing a few things you can make it even quicker and simpler or more advanced and fun.
So own it. Make it your Wednesday party!

Heartfelt Creations Products and Products Sold On Our Website:

Other Products Used: Ranger Distress Ink: Worn Lipstick, Aged Mahogany, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Wild Honey, Walnut Stain. Archival Ink: Olive. Ranger: water spritzer, ink tool, water brush, distress tool, perfect medium, heat gun, bone folder. Derwent Ink-tense Pencils: Teal green 1300, Sun yellow 0200, Apple green 1400, Chilly red 0500, Sea blue 1200, Serbet lemon 0100. Paper: SUP Naturals-white A4 cardstock. Other: Mini hat pins, Stickles Diamonds, Yellow/gold self-adhesive gems, fussy cut scissors.

For the card base, cut a 13.6 x 21 cm rectangle from the A4 cardstock and fold it in half. Use a bone folder to sharpen the fold.
(As an option, you can just use the post card stamp. Therefore having a post card and not a card. But today, for this project, we are making the card form.)

Using HCPC 3563 Stamp Set and Olive ink stamp the post card background image on a white cardstock. This will be your card front. With the aid of the Stamp Positioner, stamp a second image on top of the olive image, using perfect medium and heat emboss with clear Embossing Enamel. This will give extra texture to your card front and it will make the image color resistant. Then color the image with distress inks and a water brush. Apply color to the edges by using the ink tool and inks to age the card. Use the distress tool to ravel and fray the paper edges and then add another layer of Walnut Stain ink to this edge.

Below.
You can not see it very well here, but there is a lot of texture due to the clear embossing powder. This also allows for a resist effect on the card. You also don't have to worry about getting the double stamping spot on. We love the no mistakes motto!

Stamp the flowers and the flower cluster image onto white cardstock using olive ink, HCPC3469 and HCPC3468 Stamp Set. Die cut the flowers with the HCD1-722 Tattered Blossom Die. You will need 4 of the smaller size flowers for the two sides and 3 of the larger size for the center. Fussy cut and use the flower cluster image as a base for your blossoms. Color the flower base and the loose flowers with the same inks you used on the post card background image. Mist the cut flower shapes, when nearly dry, shape with the Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and Molding Mat. Stack and adhere the flowers onto the flower cluster image.

Love these close ups of the flowers! Go crazy and have fun with this one!

To make the humming bird, use the HCPC3641 Stamp Set and Jet Black ink. Color the bird with the Derwent pencils, fussy cut it and then apply Double Dots to its back.

The Adrianna lace dies are a must have die set! They are great to finish any card. Tucking behind a sentiment or flower cluster. Dress them up with glitter or leave them plain.
Either way they will make your work pop and bring happiness into someones day!

Using the A4 cardstock, die cut the pointed and swirl shapes from the HCD1-747 Arianna Lace Die. Use distress inks to give a little color to the shapes. Apply Stickles and put them aside to air dry. When dry, start putting the card together by arranging the placement of the different embellishments. When pleased with the result, adhere with double dots. Prick in under the flower cluster the hat pins. Use the yellow/orange self-adhesive gems for the flower centers. Adhere the Humming bird to the left bottom corner of the card. Adhere the card front to the card base with double dots. After all is glued and dry, apply the 3-D Crystal Lacquer to the flowers and leaves.

TIP: The reason I like to apply 3-D Crystal Lacquer last is that once the shapes are glued down they stay put and there is no chance I will drop them. This gives me a base to work from.

I have tried so many ways to do this with out messing up, and found this works best.
I am so glad you took the time, taking a look at the close ups of this post card. Remember by changing the colors and elements added, you can get a totally different card.
Use all those left over embellishments you have made for previous projects, you know, the ones you have carefully tucked away to keep safe, that are taking up that extra space in your craft room.....taht you need.....the stuff you can not part with.....yes we all have and do this!
So really, this is sure a winner as for cleaning up and clearing out. A all round great investment as far as stamps go!

Have a scrappy day and share some inky hugs with some one you love,
oxo, sussipoppins

A POST NOTE:
A few of the designers at Heartfelt have been sick with the bug lately. May be you can visit them and send a bit of scrappy love their way. Always a bad time of the year to be down in the dumps.

Farewell to Ed

A tribute to my dear departed brother Edward Churcher.
This is a rather personal LO. In remembrance to my dear departed older brother Eddy.
His departure from us took place in November 14th 2004. I was very close to Ed in my teens. He was my hero. I have very treasured memories of our youthful endevers together. Only 1 year and 20 days between us, so you can imagine how it hit me when he suddenly left us at the age of 47 years.
Goes to show.....treasure every moment!
Leaving behind a dearly loved wife, Anne and two sons. Simon and David. 4th, 5th and 6th from top left. Father, Mother, three sisters and two brothers. A special thank you to Anne for sharing and spending the time with me to get closure for myself when I was visiting Sydney a few years ago.
My Mother,  2nd bottom left, not with us any more, also in Gods memory.
Ed is greatly missed by all, he was a great friend to many.

Above close up. My Dad, the 1st man on the left.
Bottom close up. Annes Mum and Dad on the right.

Love these glass flowers..they make my life easy at times...don't have to make them my self....I just have to adhere them.

The lace is perfect to give a boarder ....and looks great against the black paper.
"FAREWELL"
The tittle is made from layers of design paper and a Quickuts alpha die set (retired) You could use one of the Tim Holtz dies put out by Sizzix. I usually cut 6 layers, glue them together. This makes a good chipboard, I then ink the edges with a black ink. Cats eye from color box or the Prima Marketing inks. I find these great in the hand and gives good control of how much ink you want to use on your project.

The leaf die used here is from Memory Box. Tucked under the glass flowers and leaves.
Sharing something from my personal life today.
Another aspect of this craft. It can also be great therapy for working out some, not so nice stuff that is floating around in our heads, I also did not want to let this year go by with out doing something special with the memory of my much loved and missed brother.

A simple bye for today....and till Wednesday's post.

Everlasting Love

Hi!

It is my favorite day of the week again - Wednesday posting at Heartfelt Creations!
This week I've created a card using the Swans stamp and die set. I'm even impressed with myself for making such a romantic card.

Enjoy the stroll down my blog today looking at the close up photos!

Heartfelt Creations Products and Products Sold On Our Website:

Other products: Paper: White cardstock, Very Vanilla SUP. Ink: Night of Navy SUP, Colorbox Black, Derwent intense water color pencils Shiraz 0600 Fuchsia 0700 Mustard 1700. Other: water brush, Needle and gold thread, ribbon braid, pink shear ribbon; gold embossing powder; Stickles Glitter Glue.

Prepare the card base from white cardstock 15cm x 30cm. Fold it in two. Cut the 2 printed frames from the Romantique Collection Paper Pad. Using Romantique Swans Cling Stamp setStamp Positioner Kit and Midnight Navy ink pad stamp at the bottom of the white center to create about 3 cm depth of water. With the water pen drag the ink color over the rest of the white background to give color to the water and the sky.

Take the 2nd frame and prick holes about 0.5cm from the edge, then embroider. Distress the edge. Cut away the white center of this card frame. Ink the inside edges with black ink and adhere it the first frame with Double Dots. Stamp the swans with Versamark ink and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Cut into the wings, shape them using the Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and Molding Mat. Glue together.

Die cut the flower swirl from green design paper from the paper pad x 2, glue together. Attach to card front with Double Dots

Take a Very Vanilla colored cardstock, stamp the flowers from the Hearttrob Cling Stamp set and heat emboss them with gold embossing powder. Color the flowers with water pencils and adhere them with Double Dots in their place. Place the ribbon braid and ribbon bow across the bottom of card. Tuck under the overlapping flowers.

Add Stickles to the white flowers on the card frame and the print in the green part of the frame. Add Crystal Lacquer to the green swirl. Attach card front to card base, the fold being at the top.

I hope I've inspired you to try this!
Any questions, please leave a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Bleeding hearts, cracked ice and glittery snow.

Heartfelt Creations' Wednesday!

Hi, it's that time of week again...has this year not gone so fast!
we have not got snow here in Holland...not yet any way...
I thought I'd bring in a little of my own cracked ice and white glittery stuff that I love so much.
Not to mention those wonderful bleeding hearts! You can do so much with them!
Enjoy.

Heartfelt Creations Products and Products Sold On Our Website:

Other Products Used: Spellbinder Dies: S5-022 Labels Ten, S4-356 Floral Ovals, S4-110 Classic Ovals. Paper: White Watercolor paper, White Cardstock. Other: Green organza ribbon, Diamond Dust, VersaMark, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Pencil, Double sided tape, Chipboard, Derwent Intense Water Color Pencils, Water coloring brush, Archival ink Black, Sewing Machine (optional), Glue dots

Begin first with the paper cutting. Cut from white card stock, using the Spellbinders Labels Ten die set, cut the largest size twice, one size smaller cut once. Using the S4-356 die set, cut the largest size once. Using the Classic Oval set, the largest size, cut once in water color paper and once in chipboard as follows. Place the die on the chip board and trace inside the die shape. Cut out and put aside. With the Fancy Frame die cut, using the Versamark pad, stamp along the left and right sides of the frame, so the lace part is covered. Emboss this with the clear embossing powder and heat gun. Attach double dots to the back. Glue the Fancy frame down to one of the large Label Ten frames.

The die cuts will be glued together in layers, making a card stack.

Now working with the smallest die cut from Labels Ten, the piercing tool and mat. You will see a imprint around the edge of the cut paper, this is the guide line to use as you prick around the edge. See the photo as to how far apart to make the wholes. When done, attach double dots to the back and glue it down on top of the Fancy Frame on the card stack. Taking the watercolor paper. Stamp with permanent black ink and the image from the HCPC 3638 Romantique Swans Precut Set. Color the image in using the Derwent Intense pencils and watercolor brush. I used reds and greens. Add water to get the different tones wanted. Have a play on a scrap paper to get the colors you are wanting. When dry, using the Versa Mark pad, stamp all over the oval shape. Do this two times to make sure you have covered all of the shape. Pour the clear embossing powder over the oval. Tap any excess powder away then apply heat with the heat gun. When dry and hard (leave over night to make sure it is completely dry) the paper will curl up. When you bend the paper back, it will crack. Keep bending it till you get all the cracks you want. Place the chipboard oval on top of the card stack, making sure it is centered. Using the pencil, draw lightly around the shape. This will be your placement guideline for your double-sided tape. Put the chipboard aside. Apply the double-sided tape to the inside of the pencil line. With the ribbon, make a pleat as you place it following the line. An option- you can sew in the peats with the sewing machine. With the oval chipboard and pencil draw 0.5cm inside the cut edge of the shape. Cut the 0.5cm away. Glue the chipboard oval and the stamped oval together. Next, glue this to the card stack, making sure the ovals are centered on the stack and the ribbon shows evenly around the edges. When the glue is dry, take the Crystal Lacquer and place the lacquer along the edges of the out side oval and the top of the Label Ten edges where the shaping is. Both sizes. Using the Funnel Tray, sprinkle generously the Diamond Dust over the lacquered areas. When dry, tap away any excess Diamond Dust.

With the remaining die cut, Label Ten card piece, on one end trim a little from the rounding away so it becomes straight. On the other end where the pattern begins, make a fold line from point to point.  Apply wet glue to the area above the fold. Glue this down to the back of the stacked card, making sure the shapes are aligned so they marry perfectly. The card should stand straight with out toppling over, if not trim a little more from the bottom. To finish the card, make a triple bow from the ribbon and attach it to the card front with a glue dot.

Thats it for this week. I hope you find the time to try this out...or have a play with the heartfelt Creation stamps. If you have any questions, you can leave a comment and I will get back to you....... for those that love snow as I do....I wish you much snow balling fun!
I just hope I get a chance to throw a few balls of white stuff this year....
Till next time have a scrappy week,
Inky hugs sussipoppins. oxo

With water color paper, cut the fancy frame and oval. Punch a few flowers from the off cuts of water color paper. Using the image from HCPC 3639 Love Bird Hangout and Stamp Positioner Kit, stamp both die cuts so they fall on top of each other. Stamp and die cut single flowers using the HCPC 3641 Heartthrob PreCut Set and HCD 755 Romantique garden die. Color the flowers and stamped image. Ink around both frame edges with first brown then black. Back and attach both oval frames with double dots. Place the frames in the center of design paper front.

Tape a layer of seam-binding ribbon along the bottom of frame, see photo of card. With a length of seam-binding ribbon, draw a strand from the center of one end. Pulling the thread to gather the ribbon. Do this till you get the length you want for the card. Cut and place a thin strip of double sided tape over the center of flat ribbon. Dampen the punched flowers with the water spritzer, then using a fine tipped balling tool and mat, press down in the center. When dry this will become hard. Stamp and die cut loose flowers to match the size on the border. Color all the stamped images using the same color choice as the card front. Sorry, you will have to cut out the boarder image by hand. With the design paper layer, prick, back stitch then distress the edges with a distressing tool. Apply double dots to all layers. Place and attach all to the front of the card making a stop. Prepare the loose flowers and attach the same as the card front? Finish the boarder by adding Stickles and 3-D Crystal Lacquer.

Told you... now you can go for second helpings... and no cals for the gals!

Until next time! Have an inky scrappy day!

"The Queen" Mixed Media

Hello everybody!
Some of us would like to be a "Queen for a Day"
...me?.... May be just for one day.....

When I put this together...that day...a wee while ago......in my dreams...when I was the Queen of mixed media....that is, for that day....ha ha
I sure felt like the "Prima Queen"
....Take a look at what I came up with.....

All the elements.....masking, gesso, gold paste medium, stamping, fussy cutting......a good recipe for inky and icky!...but oh, so much fun and yummie!

Memorie box dies comes into it's element with paper shaping, layering and sparkly stickle's.

Wired glass flowers, Dusty Attic glittering crowns placed on cute little birds.....
Oh to be free as a butterfly....

A "Queen for the Day", a crown, red shoes, layered girlie full skirted dress...
framed with a background of recycled shipping box cardboard worked with gesso...love that gesso!,   paint, mediums, glass flowers and leaves...one big candy party!

I think this is one of the very few LO's I have done when I have not made my own flowers.... this was a exception...if you take a close look at the glass flowers..you will understand...why.
The glass flowers are perfect for this LO!

This bird stamp is so cute...you can see I did not get enough of it! I colored the stamped images with that wonderful reliable glimmer mist. It always does what I want it to do. I did not spray them,
they are painted with a brush and water.

I hope you enjoyed your stroll in my blog,
taking a look at what I did with a few Prima Marketing products

I wish you a scrappy day and inky hugs, till next week.

Romantique Garden Mixed Media Canvas

Hey Hey...have you ever had a day when every thing goes...not the way you planed?...
For me this was one of them...started with the dish washer leaking as I was running out the door. Need I say more.....The up side!
We have Heartfelt creations and thats sure worth waking up to on a Wednesday morning.
Take a wonder down the garden below, and enjoy the moment.
They say a picture says a thousand words....this is one of them...

Products Used:

Other Products: Spellbinders: Grand Nestabilities LF-190; Paper: Water color paper, masking paper; Ink: Archival black Color Box black; Other: Ink markers SUP, Glimmer Mist olive vine key lime electric blue, White acrylic paint, Gesso, Studio multi-medium matte, Viva Kristall-gel medium, Ranger crackle paint Milled lavender Old paper, Water color brush, Paint brush, Versa mark, Gold embossing powder, Sequins matching paper for flowers, Glass beads of various colors and size, Stickles Star-dust Gold, Textured cotton braid, Canvas size 29.7cm x 39.8cm, Water brush, Spatula, Tweezers, Stencils: Prima Marketing #575927 Tim Holtz latticework.

Instructions: Allow drying time for this canvas. Needs time to between layering of mediums. The centre section of the canvas is 23.5cm x 17cm. Cut 23.5cm x 17cm from the design paper Romantique Garden paper pad, water color paper and card board. Stamp the image from Romantique Garden stamp on the water color and masking paper. Mask the image, then stamp to fill the back ground using stamps from Scenery Builders set. Color image, when dry add Star-dust Stickles to the flowers. The frame: center the 4th die of the Grand Nestabilities on the design paper, cut. Do the same for the card board. Glue both die cuts together. Apply Double Dots to back of frame. Put aside.

Prepare canvas by applying a coat of gesso, when dry, a coat of white paint. Leaving the brush strokes to be seen, this gives texture. Stamp a background with the Elegant Word Background stamp using Archival ink. Place the frame in the center of canvas and draw gently around it with a pencil, to mark future placement. Put aside the center frame. Using the Latticework stencil and spatula, apply the crackle paint randomly sometimes blending the two colors together.

In places, flatten the pattern with the spatula. Do not put any texture in the area inside the pencilled frame area, leaving this area flat. Using the Prima Marketing stencil, at the right and left side of the pencilled frame area, apply a thick layer of Kristall-gel medium. Apply also a little of the mediums to the design paper frame.

When all is dry, ink the inside of the frame edge. Attach the stamped picture and frame in the marked area. Spray the cotton braid with green Glimmer mists. When dry, starting where the flowers will be placed, glue to the edges of the frame, so the join will later be covered. Tear strips from a design paper from the paper pad. Using All Seasons Gazebo stamp and Gold emboss the strips of paper. Inking all the edges of the teared paper and curling the edges where needed. Tucking under the cotton braid, glue the teared paper down along some of the frame edge. Mix the glass beads with Studio gel medium. Using the spatula apply the mixture to areas on the canvas, taking into account the flower placement. See photo.

To make each flower cut x1 vellum, 1x design paper using the HPD 746 flower die. Ball the cut flower petals, glue and stack. Place a matching sequin in the center. Asters are cut and stamped x3 for each flower. Ball and stack. The centers are finished with Gold Stickles.

Stamp and die cut the leaves. Paint by hand using both shades of green Glimmer mists and water paint brush. Stamp the bicycle on water color paper then color. Apply Stickles to the flowers in the bikes basket. Cut this shape out. Double Dot the back ready to glue down. Do the same with the birds.

The placement of the flowers: Place the leaves then the flowers. When happy with the arrangement, apply glue. Punch circles using 3/4" punch. Cut a swirl shape into the circle. With tweezers curl this into a rose bud shape. Glue these rose buds down randomly to fill the arrangement. Glue a few sequins in the same manner. With Gold Stickles add a few triple dots here and there.

When all is dry and in place, make a mix of water and blue glimmer mist on a dish. Apply the mix to areas with the crackle paint, this will highlight the cracks. Do the same with the green mist.
Hope you had fun with the eye candy...
My scrappy day can only get better, so I'm wishing you all a fantastic, scrappy, inky fun day/night.
