Be my PRINCE every day!

This is a card you want to give to someone special.....male special....
The paper used on this card....wait for it!....
I found this in France...a Prima Marketing paper block. After finding 2 stores while on vacation in France this year...thinking to my self, how very clever, with my find....my Frans said to me
"I shall stay in the car with the dogs, but don't take all day!" Ha! I spent a little over 1/2 hour, do you believe it! I now realize how spoiled I am! Here in the Netherlands, we have a good selection to chose from. Not so many stores as a few years ago, but there are a lot of webstores. I am sure there are a lot of hidden treasure stores in France. I have yet to find them!
I will say though, I find  the French way of scrapping very refreshing. making something fantastic from simplicity.
We all can learn something from those enavated creative arty divas. We can always learn from each other, that's what makes it such fun.

Love this frog stamp from MAGNOLIA. I had the paper stamped for a while, sitting in a container, waiting to be finished and used. I took a lot of my old stash with me on vacation to use up. It was fun discovering what I had in my treasure box. The coloring of the images on this card was done with the retired STAMPIN' UP crayons. I don't know why they did that! A shame it is retired, as it is a great product. Still that's life....I am just very happy I have them still.

The die cuts are all from MAGNOLIA. The dies are called DOOHICKEYS. The dies cut very well and fine. I have never had a problem with them. The die swirls give fine cuts, so they always look great springing out from behind a flower or leaf.
Embossing folders I took with me came in handy....got to use at least once very thing you take with you on vacation. The suit case was too heavy not to use everything. If you don't. How are you going to talk your way out of that one?

A bit of inking, distressing and layering always a must for me.
All tied up with brown string. (found that in France!)
One thing I did not take with me, that was bling! I was not happy about that one! Or brads. (What is worse, I did not come across it while shopping) So I used stickles in place of.....it's called.......making do with what you got!
I used a sketch for the first time while making this card.
MOJO MONDAY.
I personally, found it harder to work with than LO sketches...but that is because there is not enough space to do all I want to do....so I have to keep saying to my self..."I shall do it on the next card"!
I think this is more of a LO persons problem. We are used to a lot more space to play around in.
But...Hey...I am happy I could play with my wonder toys while away...and it made a complete vacation. Win Win. Me happy, my Frans happy.

Till the next post....keeping my fingers and toes crossed.
The dead line date is here for HEARTFELT CREATIONS semi finals.
I managed to get mine in last week...the waiting is killing us. A whole month to wait.....

Well its time again to sign off.
Wishing you all a happy, inky, scrappy day.

New Team

"2012" NEW TEAM

Yes! It has taken me this long to post this. Since then the team has become smaller and new members have joined the fun.
I found it worth posting....I did something crazy with the photo's and played with new stuff at the time....pan pastels.

Birds and twig have been  fussy cut from the paper...Prima Marketing of course!
The flowers are made with the Magnolia dies. you can see a little of the masking done with gesso, then colored with the Pan Pastels.

More close ups.

Love all this yummy texture and soft colors

Here is the team...
It was the first time in a long while that the team was able to get together with out missing a person. We are all, like most creative people, very busy with making the most of the sort hours in the day!
See the crazy fun way of photo use. I sure was holding onto the seat of my pants when doing it. But he results was well worth it! I am still  happy with the results. I hope you enjoy it too.

If you want to try this......

How I did it:-
You need two photo's the same. eg. black and white. Fussy cut the people, then arrange them in a collage how you want it when finished. Then you also know how much room you need for it when done....so you can use the drying time to create further  with the LO. Take a photo of the arrangement with your phone, this is so you know how to arrange the pieces for later when it is all dry...yes you get to wet your photo's! Separate the photo's..... All that hard work arranging! Each photo is done separately. With a pair of reversible tweezers, hold the photo while applying the glossy liberally. Leave to dry....WARNING...this will take a long time to dry, so do allow time for this. The photo's will curl up a little,so do not panic...this is part of the effect.
To make the crackle pop, I applied distress ink, then worked the edges a bit to make it all look old and loved. And remember to have a lot of fun!

Thank you for taking the time to stop and visit.

i WISH YOU A MESSY SCRAPPY DAY, INKY HUGS....OXOX0

The Magnolia die cuts, flowers and butterflies

The letters ' at' are, the DUSTY ATTIC Bookman abc's touched up with gesso and Glimmer Mist
The letters PLAY are from the DONNA SALAZAR die MIX'd Media Play Time.

I used the neg. from the Bookman ABC's letter plate. I first used it as a mask for another project them sprayed it with Glimmer Mist. Another look at those paper dolls.

 The journaling.
"" IMAGINE A DREAM MADE FROM A DREAM""

All these gorgeous flowers or 'blooms'.
Finished with gesso to give the white washed look....so romantic! The leaves sand u nicely. The core paper is fantastic for this romantic vintage look.

Another few close ups of the flowers.
The die set has three sizes of flowers. Just great for the flower junkies like me! They also have the leaves in the set...and they can be embossed. Great for the core paper.

The Memory Makers GATE. These dies are so fine..LOVE them!
They can add interesting details to any LO with out taking it over. A new item at SCRAPDELIGHT
I might add, as usual all items can b purchased at Scrapdelight

Another quiz at the LO before signing off.

Well thats the sketch for the DUSTY ATTIC APRIL SKETCH 2012.
My DTG for APRIL is coming to a end. One really positive thing about it is....I have really pulled finger out and done a lot of posting this month.....sorry I can not do this every month, my DH will not be very happy with the scrapping world, and I also have a lot going on in my life other than my post. Funny that?
Hopefully I can get some ATC's I am working on up stairs in my LAB. Just got to get some DA and flowers on to them....So far I am excited about them.
Scrappy hugs and have a good one   .....   Love Susan
OXOXOOOOO
A big Hi to my DAD...who will be checking out my blog.
